Eagles are back for their winter vacation in the Annapolis Valley

I had planned on taking some pictures of Blomidon but took a quick detour to see if the Eagles had migrated to the valley again. Sure enough I spotted half a dozen in Steam Mills. They were quite far away for picture taking, but soon four flew away. I followed them to Lower Canard (location - take route 358 to Canning, and then turn right on route 341 to Canard) where they joined over a hundred other Eagles.

A farmer had just dropped some food on a field so it was quite the air show. With the weather as nice as it is I highly recommend heading to the valley for some fantastic bird watching. Happy New Years everyone.
